Ginger Nut Biscuits

The best biscuits to dunk in your tea

Ingredients:
100g self-raising flour
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
40g caster sugar
2 tsp ground ginger
2 tbsp golden syrup
50g unsalted butter, melted

Method:
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 190˚C, and line 2 large baking trays with baking paper.

Step 2: Sieve the flour, soda and ginger into a bowl and then gradually stir in the sugar.
Step 3: Make a well in the centre of the dry ingredients and pour in the butter and syrup. Stir the mixture together to form a soft dough.

Step 4: Divide the dough in half and cut each piece in 8 and roll into a ball, make sure to place well apart on the tray allowing room to bake.

Step 5: Bake for 7-10 minutes until golden and cracked on the top. Leave to firm on the tray for about
