Ingredients:
1/3 cup walnuts or pecans
1 Frozen puff pastry sheet
2 tbsp unsalted butter
3 tbsp granulated sugar
1/3 cup of light or dark brown sugar
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 Salt
Extras: 3 tbsp Nutella
Method:
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 175˚C
Step 2: Spread your walnuts onto a baking sheet and bake until walnuts are toasted, roughly 8-10mins. Transfer to a cutting board, and chop finely. Set aside.
Step 3: In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon and salt.
Step 4: Next roll out the puff pastry sheet from left to right so it lays vertical. Lightly brush the pastry sheet with melted butter, once fully buttered add the sugar mixture to the whole sheet. Making sure it is covered full with your mixture.
Step 5: Starting with the end of the sheet (closest to you) tightly roll the pastry up and away from you. Trimming off the ends if you need to, any sugar that loosely falls out is fine.
Step 6: Slice the roll into 8 equal pieces and arrange onto the baking sheet/tray with the spiral side facing upwards.
Step 7: Bake for 20-22mins until they are golden brown. Once cooled drizzle chocolate Nutella on top as well as your toasted walnuts. Serve and Enjoy!
Tips: Best served when warm
